Honor has officially announced the launch date for its new mid-range phone, the Honor X9d. The device will be unveiled in Malaysia on September 24, 2025, at 3:00 PM local time (10:00 AM CEST), and published teasers offer insight into what to expect. Details about the phone’s battery, camera, and design have also been revealed.
The Honor X9d comes with a 108-megapixel camera
The X9d draws inspiration from the Honor X70, which launched in China last July, but comes with a few significant changes. Honor emphasizes durability and robustness. Like the X70, this phone is IP69K certified, meaning it can withstand not only dust and water, but also high-pressure water sprays.
Furthermore, Honor emphasizes that the phone features a reinforced frame that is more resistant to drops than standard glass-bodied models. Battery life is another notable feature. Inside the device is an 8,300mAh silicon-carbon battery, a rarity in mainstream smartphones.
In terms of design, Honor maintains a familiar style while adding variety. The reddish brown color option familiar from the X70 returns, along with a new “Sunlight Gold” option.
There are also significant camera upgrades, and unlike the 50MP main camera on the X70, the X9d is expected to feature a 108MP main sensor with OIS support. This is a major leap forward for users who value detail and low-light photography.
While all technical specifications are being kept under wraps until launch, the X9d, with its robust build, massive battery, and improved camera, is poised to be a strong contender in the durability-focused mid-range market.
